The apocalypsewillbe televised!
A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sad*stic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible.
In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth—from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds—collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground.
The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot. A dungeon so enormous, it circles the entire globe.
Only a few dare venture inside. But once you're in, you can't get out. And what's worse, each level has a time limit. You have but days to find a staircase to the next level down, or it's game over. In this game, it's not about your strength or your dexterity. It's about your followers, your views. Your clout. It's about building an audience and killing those goblins with style.
You can't just survive here. You gotta survive big.
You gotta fight with vigor, with excitement. You gotta make them stand up and cheer. And if you do have that "it" factor, you may just find yourself with a following. That's the only way to truly survive in this game—with the help of the loot boxes dropped upon you by the generous benefactors watching from across the galaxy.
They call itDungeon Crawler World. But for Carl, it's anything but a game.
DCC Discord!

The first several chapters of DCC are now off of Royal Road because the book is on Amazon. I want to thank all of you for 9 months of amazing support. This is and Patreon will always be the place for the newest chapters and content, but to comply with Amazon's Kindle Unlimited policy, I can't have more than 10% of the story up here.
This is a work in progress. Major editing will be done after the book is complete, so there will be egregious typos and parts that make no sense whatsoever. Please, please feel free to point any and all of these things out. Chapters WILL get edited, and that editing might break earlier chapters. I will attempt to keep readers apprised of all changes. Updates one-two days a week.

Bloody great.

Overall: Bloody Great.
Style: A man and his cat acting like reality TV stars because their lives depend on it, while simultaneously displaying that they are NOT the characters they are pretending to be.
Grammar: Never had a problem.
Story: Very early on I put my face in my hands and said out loud "Oh you're so f*cked buddy, Carl, you are so f*cking f*cked."
Characters: Bro. Real talk. Do you talk to cats and then pretend they talk back? In all seriousness, you've got a real talent for characters. In my experience, that's the most important part of being an author.
Love the story. One author to another, you're doing a great job.

THis has to be the funniest and one of the best LitRPG I have ever read. The whole thing just flows so well and it just leaves me wanting more after each chapter. I really hope you continue this to the end so I can see what happens to carl and princess. Thank you so much for writing this!

I didn't think I was into black comedy until I met Dungeon Crawler Carl. This series gets EVERYTHING right. The humorous tone of this NOT being a world where things are run sensibly establishes itself right away, so the tone is absurdist yet consistent. The characters are deep, flawed, yet the fundamental decency of the Carl and his allies shines through.
I haven't seen this much of a page turner in years!

A new benchmark for litrpg

In the past year, I've brought more than 150 litrpg novels of Amazon and read more than 50 on kindle unlimited. This series is the best litrpg series out there. Literally the best. If I was going to scale my 5-star review of this series with everything else I've read second place (Mayor of Noobtown) gets a 4-star review.
Why is this so good? For one thing, the premise makes sense. There is an actual reason for the levelling system. But more than that, the protagonist is a fully fleshed-out character who isn't trying to level because he's a megalomaniac, but because he needs to do so to survive.
So, yeah, I like this series and recommend it to anyone who likes litrpg.

Dungeon Crawler Carl series

The Dungeon Crawler Carl books are just the best. Well written, great plot lines, and parts are laugh out loud funny. I love how the main characters Carl and Donut progress, and the other characters are well fleshed out.
The author does geek out a little on the mechanics of the "game", but it all adds to the great story line.
I'm impatiently waiting for book 5 to be completed and I'm not sure how I'll stand it waiting for book 6.
Highly recommended.

I'm really enjoying the plot, characters, and writing style. I read some of the preview material and it was so good that I bought all 4 books on Amazon. I timed this pretty well because the 4th was actually a prerelease pur hase and when I finished the 3rd I waited only a day before the 4th went live. Now I'm all caught up here reading the 5th and have added it to my follow list.
I'm not a free spender, so that's some strong praise. These are the first books I purchased in 2021 - and it's July. So worth it, though.
Some of the backstory on Carl's history being brought back in the 5th book to haunt him is looking particularly enticing so I'm just waiting for the other shoe (or bare foot in Carl's case) to drop.
Good stuff; I can't reccommend this series enough.

Unique and batsh*t - The apocalypse is a Game Show!

As far as apocalypses on Royal Road goes, this is one of the most stand out i've seen.
We've got a cat that gets made into a supersmart superstar, we've got a guy with no pants that becomes a mad bomber, we've got accidental goblin population control, a snarky foot fetish system AI and we've got orc-human deep fakes.
And it's all in the names of getting those multiverse viewers to like, favourite and subscribe so you can get reward boxes and try not to die. Complete with our main characters getting signed up for interviews and game shows.
Give it a go.

Astounding work able to flawlessly mix elements from other books into homages, never boring never too ridicule.
The dialogues flow smoothly, the characters chemistry is there and there is a just right cast of characters.
As a fellow writer I couldn't help but love and learn from this book.

First Boss battle

Understanding what she was saying made that battle sad. Very. Man we're already going from dark and fun to heavy and then back to the game. That boss battle was sad and the best thing to do was end her suffering I wonder how it'll go further. Carl and donut are getting at it fast and adaptabing well. I like that in the story and also the emotion involved making it feel not removed from reality at all.

Absolute gold.No synopsiscoulddothis story justice. A little early to say anything for sure, but it's by far one of the best stories I've read on this site.
