Chris MacEachern

CEO

Chris MacEachern holds a Bachelor of Finance and a Diploma of Financial Planning. He was the Rookie of the Year for Westpac and the Planner of the Year for CBA before starting up his own business, Freedom Finance Australia. He now enjoys building ongoing relationships with his clients to help them truly understand what their goals are and put them in the best place to achieve those goals. When Chris is not working, he enjoys an active lifestyle like playing Ice hockey and running marathons.

Daniel Rake

General Manager

With over 15 years’ experience in financial services and corporate and financial regulation Dan specialises in delivering outstanding returns for clients and employees alike. Dan has held Head of Wealth and General Management roles with major banks and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC). As well as holding a Diploma in Financial Services, Dan has completed post graduate studies at Mt Eliza Business School.
Outside of the office Dan enjoys spending time with and cooking for his wife and four daughters, travelling, and competing in Ironman triathlons.

Stuart Maunder

Head of Advice

Stuart joined Freedom Finance Australia in 2020 after spending more than 16 years across both banking and financial planning. Starting his career as a financial planner Stuart then moved on to lead, mentor and coach financial planners across the country.

Stuart holds an MBA and advanced diploma in financial planning and believes strongly in value that good quality financial advice can provide everyday Australians.

Outside of work Stuart is a golf tragic, loves keeping fit and healthy and loves travelling the world to experience new cultures whilst sampling all of the good food and wine that is on offer.

Elaine Holmstrom

Executive Assistant

With over 25 years in the Financial Services Industry having enjoyed various roles in Wealth Management, Assistant to Compliance Manager, Managing Insurance Claims and Client Services. Elaine recently joined Freedom Finance as Executive Assistant to support the Management Team. Outside of work Elaine enjoys spending time with family and friends and traveling.

Thomas Lowe

Adviser Operations Manager

Thomas joined Freedom Finance Australia in 2018 and works closely with the Financial Advisers and the Associate Adviser teams as the Associate Adviser Team Leader. Thomas has 8 years of experience in the Financial Services industry and holds a Diploma in Financial Planning. At work he is always striving to get the best possible outcomes for his clients. When away from work Thomas likes to run and exercise and spend time with his family and two young sons.

Vikki Seldon

Advice Quality and Assurance Officer

Joining FFAU in July 2021, Vikki has over 20 years in the Financial Service Industry, is a Certified Financial Planner© and has spent the last nine years providing quality financial advice to clients throughout Victoria and Regional NSW. Her focus is now in helping our Advisers to provide quality advice to our clients.

Outside of work, when not out exploring all that Victoria has to offer, you will usually find her cooking up a storm, watching (or attempting to play) netball or re-teaching herself how to knit, sew and embroider.

Jonathan Hynson

Advice Quality and Assurance Officer

Jon comes to Freedom Finance Australia in June 2021 with over 20 years’ experience in financial services.

Covering area’s of risk mitigation, relationship management and coaching over this time period, he is passionate about working with people to be the best they can be.

Outside of work, Jon enjoys time with friends, dining out, following Arsenal and Richmond and travelling when the opportunity presents.

Maria Fernandez

Accountant

Maria is originally from the tropical Caribbean and joined Freedom Finance Australia in 2018, while completing her Master of Accounting in Melbourne. Since finishing her studies, she has been working alongside our leadership team as an Accountant in the HQ office.Outside of work, Maria is a real foodie, enjoys spending time with her family, and traveling abroad.

Dashika Rebekani

Accountant

Rebeka holds a Batchelor in Management Accounting (CIMA –UK) and completed her MBA (Double Major), specialised in Project Management and Digital Management. She is closely working with the senior leadership team to manage accounting tasks and to achieve operational excellence. Outside work, she likes to kayak, hike with her dog to explore nature and loves to paint in her leisure time.

Melanie Keomany

Client Services Manager

Melanie holds a Master of Arts (English Language) along with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in English Literature and a Diploma of Modern Languages (Spanish). She is proud to have worked closely with Wendy Plant and Brenda Symons over the past eight years to deliver the highest standard of personal service to their clients. Outside the office she enjoys reading, knitting, and improving her gardening skills.

Mahnoor Adam Khan

I am an Associate Adviser with a bachelor degree in Accounting.Being new to the industry I am avidly learning about the world of financial advisory where I am able to fulfill my aim to affect positive change in people’s lives and aid in achieving their lifetime financial goals.With a creative mind, I am constantly searching for avenues to execute creative thinking and strategies whilst working closely with advisers and clients.Outside of work I immerse myself in all things tech and science, painting, video games and going to rock gigs.

Data Analyst

Ekta Sharma joined Freedom Finance in February 2018 and is a Software Engineer. She has over 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer. She has completed her Master in Information Technology. Outside of work, she likes hiking, swimming and spending time with friends and family.

Subodh Shrestha

Insurance Officer

Subodh holds a Master of Technology (Software Engineering). He graduated from Federation University in December 2019. Currently, he works closely with Insurance and Data Team in Freedom Finance Australia. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He loves to play and watch games, collect currencies from all around the world to add in his collection. He also enjoys travelling and exploring new places.

Chris Markopoulos

Director / Senior Financial Adviser

Chris has a deep-seated understanding of clients’ needs. Throughout his career he has won awards for client satisfaction and customer service, which reflect his personal philosophy of putting his clients’ needs first. Chris is a director at our Mount Waverly office, with a core focus on providing clients’ commercially savvy and easy to understand strategies and advice. He has built a strong reputation for his focus on outcomes, advising clients on risk insurance, social security, accumulation and superannuation strategies.

Outside work Chris loves spending time with his young family and English Pointer, “Jazz”, enjoying the great outdoors whenever possible. He loves camping, fishing, and off-roading. He has a Bachelor of Business and a Diploma of Financial Services.

Michael Oren

Financial Adviser

After emigrating from NZ, and beginning his Financial Planning career in 2012, Michael joined the Freedom Finance team in 2019. He holds a B.Com (hons) in Finance and is passionate about helping his clients achieve their financial goals, and ultimately live their best lives. His areas of expertise include super and pension structuring, investing, retirement planning, and personal insurances.

Outside of the office, Michael likes to keep active and is an avid runner, he enjoys expanding his culinary repertoire, and a day trip to one of the local wine regions every so often.

David joined Freedom Finance Australia in March 2021, with the merger of Retirement Victoria.

Having built his career in financial services over 15 years, backed by education including a Master of Financial Planning, David is committed to working with his clients to ensure they are comfortable articulating their goals in life & money, building & maintaining a financial plan that enables each client to ‘live their best life’.

When not at work, David enjoys spending time with his family and friends, regular trips to his family’s property in Inverloch & fishing on Westernport Bay.

Kristie Notte recently joined Freedom Finance as an Associate Adviser and holds a Diploma of Financial Planning, and is currently furthering her studies in this area. She has spent the last 10 years as a Senior Insurance Risk Adviser in personal lines and has spent an overall 20 year career in risk products. She is passionate about building long term relationships with her clients, as part of assisting them with their overall financial and risk needs. She loves animals and leads a very active lifestyle including bodybuilding, water sports and motorbike riding in her spare time.
