The Baltimore Orioles are in Anaheim, California, on Monday night, April 22, for the first of a three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels.

Albert Suarez (0-0, 0.00 ERA, 0.53 WHIP, four strikeouts) will start for the Orioles and Reid Detmers (3-0, 1.19 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, 30 strikeouts) for the Angels.
Baltimore (14-7, second in the AL East) is 7-3 in its last 10 games and batting .295 over that stretch.
The Orioles are coming off a 5-0 win at Kansas City on Sunday as Colton Cowser and Jordan Westburg hit back-to-back homers off Royals starter Seth Lugo, who had not allowed a home run since last September.
Cole Irvin (1-1) scattered four hits and two walks in 6 2/3 innings for Baltimore. He stranded a runner on third in the first inning and another at second base in the fifth while earning his first win since beating the Royals on June 10, 2023.

“Just a quality team game,” Irvin told The Associated Press. “Felt like we did all the little things right today.”
The Royals were shut out for the first time this season after they were blanked 15 times last year.
Ryan Mountcastle added an RBI double and Westburg walked with the bases loaded to make it 4-0 in the sixth. Ryan O’Hearn drove in a run with an infield single in the eighth to help Baltimore pull away.
The Royals tried to rally in the eighth, putting runners at the corners with one out. But Danny Coulombe froze Salvador Perez with a pitch on the inside corner, then struck out Nelson Velázquez to end the inning.
Gunnar Henderson has two doubles, two triples, six home runs and 15 RBI while hitting .279 for the Orioles while Westburg is 16-for-38 with two doubles, a triple and three home runs over the past 10 games.
Los Angeles (9-13, third in the AL West) has lost four in a row and seven of its last 10 games, batting just .242 during that stretch. After losing the final game at Tampa Bay, the Angels got swept by the Reds i Cincinnati.
Taylor Ward has three doubles and six home runs for the Angels while Anthony Rendon is 14-for-38 with a double over the past 10 games.
They opened the season in Baltimore and lost the first two games, 11-3 and 13-4, before salvaging the series with a 4-1 win.
