Why won't my Withings Smart Body Analyzer turn on? ›

The screen of the scale doesn't turn on

Make sure you've removed the battery tab if it's the first time you're installing the scale. Make sure you're using alkaline, non-rechargeable batteries. Make sure the metallic contacts of the battery compartment are touching the batteries and that they are not dirty or corroded.

Press and hold the button on the bottom of the scale until the scale menu appears. Three options will now display on the screen of the scale: Info, Update, and Reset. Note: Update is only available if the scale is set up with Wi-Fi. Press the button to cycle through the options until you land on Reset.

Make sure that your Withings Pulse appears in My devices in the Withings App. If not, you need to install it. Press the button of your Withings Pulse for 3 seconds to force the synchronization.

For those readings that I could compare on another smart scale, the Body Scan appeared accurate over time, although it's worth noting that occasionally the fat mass measurements on its body segmentation scan appeared to be unrealistically low, and I had to re-take the scan once or twice to get a correct reading.

Make sure that you have pressed and held the scale's button for at least 3 seconds so that the screen of the scale is in Setup mode and displays "Open Withings App." Toggle Bluetooth off and then on again on your mobile device and try the installation process again.

In some cases, a simple battery reset can bring your digital scale back to its accurate self. Begin by removing the batteries from the scale and allow it to remain without power for approximately 5 minutes. This step allows any residual charge to dissipate, effectively clearing the scale's memory.

Remove all batteries from the back of your scale. Leave the scale without its batteries for at least 10 minutes. Make sure that the battery compartment is clean, and the contact terminals are free of debris or residue. Check that the batteries have the correct polarity and reinsert them firmly in place.

#1 Every time a digital scale is moved it needs to be calibrated. Initializing the scale resets the internal parts allowing the scale to find the correct “zero” weight and ensure accurate readings. If the scale is moved and you do NOT calibrate it, you are likely to see fluctuations in your weight.

Data from your Body is automatically synced, without any action required on your part. Your weight data is synced with the Withings App within a few minutes after you weigh in. Your scale will also sync once a night.
